Do you need an easy to use scheduling tool?
Asta Powerproject is robust like P6 but easier and more intuitive to use with a much shorter learning curve. Users can start creating schedules after 1 or 2 days of training versus at least 5 days with P6. For example, users can add activities in a variety of ways based upon their preferences. Users can draw tasks directly on the bar chart, or enter on the activity table, or copy/paste from Excel. You can also utilize task pools or fragnets, which are predefined networks of tasks, to quickly and easily setup a project. Planners and schedulers can focus their time on managing the project versus mastering a software tool as is required with P6.
Does lower cost of Ownership interest you?
Asta Powerproject involves a lower initial cost of ownership with both named seat ($1575) and concurrent license ($2095) license models versus $2500 for a named seat of P6 Professional. Concurrent licenses enable multiple users to share a license thereby providing another avenue for reducing the cost of ownership. Ongoing annual maintenance and support is also significantly less than P6. Annual support for a named seat of Asta Powerproject is $315 versus $550 for Primavera P6.

Asta Powerproject users can easily share their project plans with users of other scheduling solutions, ensuring compliance with customer specifications. Asta Powerproject can open and save schedules in P6, MS Project, SureTrak etc. formats without a cumbersome import/export procedure as is required with P6.
